I believe WHAT Jesus tells me -> John 17:3 - This now is the eternal life that they should know You (Father) the only TRUE God and whom you have sent, Jesus Christ.
As per his quote from the OT, a never changing God Deu -> Hear, Israel! Yehowah our God Yehowah (Father) ONE Is (1 person).
Here, he in 17:3 unquestionably and independently of himself, the 2nd Adam MAN Jesus, references the Father alone as the Only True God when Jesus was here.
In John 1:18 after the cross, Jesus being glorified is now an only BEGOTTEN God = he was not a begotten God when here, as 17:3 CLEARLY confirms FROM Jesus himself.
"Lessor God" -> 1 Cor 15:27, 28 - For "God has put everything under His feet." Now when it says that everything has been put under Him, this clearly does not include the One who put everything under Him.
Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God (Father) may be all in all.
John 14:28 - You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.

The God and Father is/was the ONE God as Jesus says, when he was here and he is also the Holy Spirit, Father of Jesus.
Jesus as the scriptures show is the 2nd Adam Man whose beginnings of all time are as per Matt 1:18, just as the numerous prophesies CLEARLY tell us.
The pre-existing Jesus is the plan and purpose in the mind of the God and Father = and the Word ongoing, in progress = toward the God and while in you = And God (Father) was/is the Word.
Hence he -> Deu 18:18 - I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.
Progress of his raising in the word -> Luke 2:40, 52 - And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.
And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
John 12:49 - For I did not speak on My own, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak.
That gave Jesus life in himself, just as the Father has life in himself, inner words John 5:26, 6:63, 68.
HOW CAN A PRE-EXISTING ONE NOT ALWAYS BE IN FAVOR WITH GOD, SHOULD SOUND ALARM BELLS TO YOU.
NO, NO -> there is absolutely NO such hint in this verse, that this is only referring to the man or flesh aspect of Jesus, to add the likes of that in there, is an abomination of the word of TRUTH.

That's a million dollar question, considering the likes of Jesus's words in John 17:3, and Paul's warnings of people Corrupting the simplicity in Jesus Matt 1:18 etc and creating ANOTHER Jesus as MOST of the 'said' Christianity has done.
Hence that is WHY I quoted a snippet of the Gospel of Thomas, as when you discover the Truth, you ARE disturbed as immediately you get concerned for others, how selfish eh.
But apparently, you sort of get deemed as selfish and referenced as all sorts, when you try and present truth and are deemed as being irresponsible for spending too much time, seeking truth, which it takes, as you're dealing with planted seeds in you.

I feel that 2 Thes 2:4 IS in play from around the 100's, people are that temple and God IS allowing it because of 2:10 and doing it by the means of 2:11, granting their wish.
Nothing new under the sun, what was will be - as the Jews were blinded, likewise and sadly it appears, most Gentiles or said Christians.
This lawlessness is not exposed until Jesus comes, but just before that the elect are gathered.
He comes with the wrath immediately after that gathering, one would assume the truth will be revealed, just before the wrath and people will have to cling to what appears a new found truth, and endure or die in the wrath.
Hence the woman drunk on their blood.
The wrath is Not the tribulation, the wrath (God's) is at the end of the Tribulation, we are only told that we're spared from the wrath. (Those of Jesus's).
But this could still answer the subject in Rev, the numbers of people before the throne, cannot be counted and God wipes away tears
