A basic understanding of logic and reason tells us that what is written and claimed is not evidence for what is written and claimed.

You are invoking a circular argument - the bible is true because the bible says that it is the word of God - which is also called ''begging the question,'' a fallacy in logic.

We don't have eyewitness accounts. We have a body of works that were written by anonymous authors decades after the described events. Which is no more credible than other holy books, the Gita, Quran, etc, which also tell us about god and prophets, but disagree with the bible on theology.

None of this is evidence as evidence is defined, you can't check for yourself, you can't observe Jesus turning water into wine, raising the dead or walking on water.....so to believe that these things are true is a matter of faith; a belief held without the support of evidence.

You can't observe any of the planets circulating some of the stars yet we use evidence to demonstrate they do exist by observing the motions of the stars.
