This is precisely what I was thinking. It may go even deeper in that if there is a predator looking to acquire a stake they may also be the one responsible for shorting. Would be a smart way to do it. So they short the stock to lower the price. Aquire a stake when the indexes exit and close their short position. Not bad if that’s what is happening.
