I've been in the motor industry 44 years and you make perfect sense, if that suits your situation, however don't expect to buy a current Camry and get 25 years out of it, and in the interest of a balanced comparison that applies to Hybrids and EV's.
The world, and manufacturing is a very different place from when your 25 year old Camry rolled off the assembly line, cars are now engineered and designed for cheaper and quicker construction methods with no concern regarding major repairs, they'd rather you buy another new car from them. So enjoy that point in the Industrial Revolution while you can.
