I disagree, firstly, because science and engineering are, and should be, inextricably linked.
Secondly, science is constantly making discoveries and improvements to existing technological realities. Science and engineering are not static concepts. Engineering is the practical manifestation and application of science. They are mutually dependent, engineering must continually pester science for improved solutions, science must demand improved applications of its discoveries.
I'm not attempting here to be deliberately contrarian, rather I believe the principle I'm putting forth is an essential component of exponential acceleration of technological advancement A quality I deeply admire in Twiggy, and I believe it is an essential ingredient of Fortescue's DNA.
