Companies should pay out capital if they have no better use for it or if they think they can invest and get a better return then they should withhold it. Given 4 of the top 5 largest shareholders are directors (Craig Mitchell holds under his name and Exxten Pty his family trust) you can assume they like a higher SP in the long run, but they cannot control market forces. Mount Gibson with 10% exercised their options at 25c with much more expiry left. If anyone wants a dividend stock go buy the banks - CBA is the most expensive bank in the world (no no growth prospects in this environment) but hey you get a dividend of just 3.3%......
