I think one needs to get their head around BKW is just a shareholding in SOL, industrial property REIT holder / land bank and lastly a building materials company that is increasingly going to become somewhat of a rounding error.
It was only a couple of years ago on the back of concern about gas prices the shares fell from $25 to $18. The loss in market cap was much more than value of the building materials business!
I think the term you can safely apply to BKW is conglomerate discount ( google it if you are unfamiliar) whether it advantage or a disadvantage is largely up to the individual.
