Well we've had thermometers (they're scientific instruments that measure temperature in case you didn't know) for 200 years. They've been located all around the world and people have checked and recorded the temperatures day in day for the last 200 years. So I suppose all you'd have to do was check the data to find out if temps are going up or down.
Hang on the people at National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) (I call them scientists - do you know the term) have done that and guess what they've come up with.
