    Hi Bowral

You make some interesting points. Science seems to me to be just as much a belief system as religion. Sure there is evidence in science, but how much of that is objectively assessed?Probably only what fits with the ruling paradigm.

Seems like everyone wants to force you into one of two opposing views. Complete rubbish. As a mate of mine used to say, "there are 17(or 27 or 203) sides to every story"just to make the point that both assumed sides of an arguement can be wrong.Evolution or intelligent design who really knows(as opposed to just believes)? It might be something completely different, like Fred Hoyles Panspermia theory that postlates simple organisms travelling through interstallar space, seeding the universe. He also pointed out the number of possible amino acid combinations in DNA as something in the order of 1 in 10 to the power of 128 which is a faily large number almost as big as the US debt.

As for evolution, while there have been many changes to species, I can no more believe that life started from scratch with all its complexity of even the most simple organism, than if someone told me that a tornado went through a wreckers yard and reassembled with running motor a car. Does that make me a creationist? In many peoples eyes probably yes, simply for not believing one thing. The real answer is I don't know and won't be pushed into one side or another. When we can make life from scratch ie. inanimate materials I might reassess.

Back to the thread title of current Nazi beliefs, a couple are the growing acceptance of euthanasia of which they were big fans, and also the current anti smoking campaigns. They were the original health Nazis.

    cheers
