Yeah they've been expecting diplomacy since the beginning. The Kursk invasion has been a setback to this - but let's not pretend that is longer than 6 weeks old. There were over 2 years before this that Russia has been waiting.
If Ukraine aren't fighting for the west, is western aid a charity? Or is it, as Zelenskyyy says "An investment".
