What you mean, of course, is that 79% of lithium reserves are within 35 miles of a reservation, not 80% of projects. For a couple years I have been saying BLM should allow a two-mile buffer zone from the Hualapai land, which was given back to them by the descendants of the people who stole it with US military help. The Hualapai are saying the same thing -- just don't drill so close to Hakamwe, you have all those claims that you thought are worth staking, much farther away.
I live within 35 miles of more than one reservation. No one is saying the buffer zone should be that wide. Even 3.5 miles is probably more than Native Americans should expect.
