re: Ann: Newcrest closely monitoring situatio... results and information on the mine from last quarterly report FYI, last qtr for the mine was not too good
Bonikros September quarter performance was 12,458
ounces of gold at a gross cash cost of US$1,559
(A$1,728) per ounce and a net cash cost of US$973
(A$1,084) per ounce. This compares with the June
quarter performance of 22,510 ounces of gold at a net
cash cost of US$615 per ounce.
Gold production was 44% lower than the previous
quarter associated with a significantly lower gold feed
grade, partly offset by increases in mill throughput and
the gold recovery rate. Gold production is expected to
increase in the next quarter as greater access to higher
grade zones is established.
Total material movements in the open pit were higher
than the previous quarter. Waste movement increased
by 19% as access to higher grade ore faces was
sought.
Unit cash costs were higher than the previous quarter
associated with the lower gold production.
