Lawlessness in the Temple because 2:10 and being restrained by 2:11 until -> 2:8 - And then the lawless (no "one" in there) will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth (truth) and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
Just prior to this, the Elect who Jesus says are Few, are gathered and then it's Wrath time, the Trib has just finished. True followers, are only told that they are spared the Wrath. So, it could very well be, truth is revealed and then wrath and they have to cling to what seems, to be a new found truth, and go through the wrath ???? Hence the woman drunk on their blood, which explains the number which cannot be countered, before God ?
