You clearly confuse the issue of cause and effect.
The cause is the ugly hidden ECE takeover offer (which you
paradoxically described as very good for GBE shareholders) and the negative response and toxic sentiment around GBE is only effect of this offer.
So you made in the short term the right decision in selling GBE somewhere in the 30s, pure luck.
But ironically you still don't finally understand the CAUSE of this share price decrease.
