    Maaze,

    Thanks for sharing that article.

Just shows us how under-explored the area is and the potential it has.

Some extracts (coz I know that most people wont check out the link and read in full):

From the 1970s when Tasminex was exploring the grounds:

"In the 1970s, Tasminex drilled about 14 holes at Mt Venn. The best one was the last, which struck intersections totalling 30 metres of disseminated sulphides assaying 0.25 to 0.5 per cent nickel and about 1 per cent copper."

The above result was achieved even though "Tasminex did a pretty ordinary job of exploring Mt Venn, even by 1970 standards."

"Tasminex drilled only what it could see. This was a difficulty because the outcrops that indicate possible mineralisation are sparse. Tasminex drilled in some likely spots but only five of its drill holes reached basement, which indicates the company wasn't trying very hard."

"Tasminex had explored only a small patch of ground at the southern end of the claims, amounting to less than 10 per cent of the total area and nowhere near the biggest gossans. "
"Tasminex had done three-fifths of five-eighths of sweet Fanny Adams as far as geological work was concerned."

    *WOW at this:*
"In the textbooks, an explorer is supposed to do tiresome things such as geophysical analysis, geological mapping and aeromagnetic surveys before deciding to drill. The Tasminex chaps, eager to catch the market while it was ripe, wanted to go straight to drilling and had some heated arguments with their geologists."

When Helix took over the tenements a few years ago:

"Helix's best bit of rock-scratching was on a shear zone in the old Western Mining ground where a sample assayed 24 per cent copper and 1.9 per cent nickel."

"Mt Venn is certainly worth a few holes because it must contain the largest undrilled gossans in WA."

And we all know from AUC & EKM whats in the area/immediately surrounding GNIs tenements.
