Big hits from Pepper and Never Never but the interesting stuff for me was the continued shallow drilling at Patient Wolf and Golden Wings,
While I agree that it would have been good to have some detailed cross-sections or long sections of Patient Wolf and Golden Wings, I had a look at the drill data for Patient Wolf, and it looks like they have settled on a typical azimuth of either 090 or 135 ish so drilling towards the southeast and I assume that this is another case of the sterilization drilling northwest of the Dalgaranga Plant all being entirely ineffective? Although the grades and tonnes aren't knockout yet at Patient Wolf this does open the strong possibility that there will be more shallow gold ounces found between Never Never and Golden Wings in the future because it looks like the sterilization drilling failed and the area is still actually prospective for gold deposits.
Does anyone know what that big grey waste rock pile around the shallow pit at Golden Wings actually is? Was that a misconceived attempt to start a waste dump before the previous operator discovered the gold at Golden Wings? Or just an attempt to keep drainage in and enclosed? I read somewhere that the Golden Wings pit was mined from 1996 to 2000 as a shallow smash-and-grab - did that stuff go to the old Gilbeys plant or trucked to Mt Magnet? Whatever the case more drilling is needed.
The long section of the Dalgaranga Structural Corridoor is informative that the extent of deep drilling is very limited away from Pepper and Never Never, so I hope they keep at it in some of the shallower drilling at Never Never North, Arc, Patient Wolf, Beefeater and Golden Wings to nail down the exact orientation of some of these gold zones, before banging some deeper diamond drill holes underneath them, even if none of them turn up to be a large scale deep orebody like Never Never the optionality of having some open pittable shallow ounces to feed that mill will certainly add value to the entire project.
Whatever the case - they should not design any more surface infrastructure and especially any more waste rock dumps anywhere, because it looks like the entire sterilization program done by previous operators is an epic fail, fortunately for SPN shareholders.
