What's worse is the need for re-referrals! I refer you to specialist X for condition Y. Specialist X confirms diagnosis and then reschedules follow-ups at set intervals. After 12 months though you have to return to me for a "new" referral - what a joke! The diagnosis has been confirmed. I have a meaningless consultation and the patient has a meaningless waste of time waiting to see me for nothing
