It's a study. A Clinical trial.
Of course it will be held in a hospital setting.
Where else are they guaranteed to get a cohort of eligible children? MacDonalds?
Again, FebriDx will not be used if the hospital has 24/7 access to it's own pathology lab.
It's a POC test - it simply differentiates between bacteria and a virus.
A lab test identifies the actual bacteria so the hospital will use it own lab to get that result. A treating physician needs to know what TYPE of infectious agent it is,not just that it is bacterial in origin.
This what you can't get your little forebrain around.
A POC test ONLY HAS VALUE where a pathology lab isn't available.
So 24/7 Hospitals, which have a 24/7 lab, will not use the tests.
Clinics and smaller hospitals WITHOUT 24/7 lab access possibly could.
Now do you get it?
This should be obvious to a year 11 student.
