Indeed. In the end, no single version of the range of English Bibles will perfectly capture every thought or nuance communicated through the Hebrew, Greek or Aramaic writing in our available manuscripts. That's not the real problem. Rather than attempting to identify the most accurate or best translation, we can learn to read and compare different versions to gain a deeper, fuller understanding of Scripture. In most cases, we can live with the slight differences. Where it's important is where there might be some conflict. Well, when it comes to the core issues, such as the issue at hand about whether the Word/Jesus was/is God then it's easily resolved - there are no differences in the various translations to the English. The Word was with God in the beginning. The Word was God in the beginning. The Word became flesh to dwell among the people and was still God. Jesus went back to God the Father and Jesus is still God today. Jesus and His Father will forever remain the eternal God. Those who claim otherwise are in breach of the translated texts and as such reject them. In that case, they don't believe in the true eternal God of those Bibles. It's that simple.
