I've always thought of him as a Hong Kong or Tiawanese Chinaman. That would be an independant "capitalist" Chinese. Is he buying as an individual or is he taking up a stake "under the radar" for the Chinese government. Bear in mind that Lynas and a cap raising did spell the end on the original Chinese bid. He'll have to show his hand sooner or later. I'm also surprised that Lynas hasn't taken their holding past the 10% "blocking" holding. They are so close but not exactly there.
