I tend to find if something is over complex that can't be explained with a simple verse or two we have a problem. Scripture was written so it could be understood by all, sure we have complex parts in the likes of Revelation and Daniel but the basic issues around salvation and who the Almighty is, and his son are for all to easily understand.
My understanding is the Trinity question went from one (1) in the gospels to twinity (2) over time then trinity (3) after a longer period of time. I'm a work in progress as i have found out the more i learn the less i know. And this is a good thing to keep an open mind and change it in the event information comes to light that makes me want to change it.
Below is one clip i found helpful but i need to do some due diligence on his teaching. I think the title of the clip is unhelpful to be honest, so often the Christian community is intolerant to other points of view, and nastiness can break out.
