This was directly addressing the bold section of the quoted request above, as I have first hand experience with ASX:AGO being a holder until it was TAKEN from me. It was out of my control - nothing I could do about it.
But my answer was genuine and serious. Just wait until....and about a month later you get a cheque in the mail.
Not sure why, but I have seen people bail on the first whiff of a take-over rise.
Maybe it's fear that the deal will either not eventuate or that it may drag on for many months.
They are getting out early and footing the brokerage that the last do not have to pay.
Not sure why, but to each their own.
All the above is hypothetical and I know nothing of any proposed offers.
