There is no such thing as a "version of the truth".
Have you heard of a parable about the blind men and the elephant?
I recommend you familiarize yourself with it (Google it).
The moral of the parable is that humans have a tendency to claim absolute truth based on their limited, subjective experience as they ignore other people's limited, subjective experiences which may be equally true.
Your limited, subjective experience is not the ultimate truth.
