One of the directors sold options not shares. As a director I have previously been in the situation where I had a shitload of options but not the moolah to exercise them. The only choices I had were to either let them lapse or sell, I choose to sell. It had no reflection on the companies prospects, just my cash position.

This does not apply to share sales as distinct from options.
