1 short position is taken shares lent from lender at $1.00
2. short position is bought back at @.60 cents
3. profit 40 cents
4. ??? at what price are the shares returned to the lender
if the shares are returned to the lender at 40c per share then the lender has taken a significant loss
can anyone answer my question because it does not make sense that the lender would lend the shares if they were going to make a loss
