THEY ARE A CUSTODIAN
I've explained one reason for the ms holding and that is holdings for hedge funds. The other reason for their holding is they are the custodian for multiple funds. LYC recently came out of the small cap index and has gone into the big cap index. This always results in selling as the small cap managers lock in their gains but the big cap guys don't need to buy it as it is relatively small in their index. Just a wash happening at both levels. It will unwind and follow stocks like MCP.
