    The ALP are telling us what will happen without actually spelling it out.
    They are pro renewable baseload with gas filling the void until renewables can be proven to supply Australia's escalating future baseload needs, what they can't tell you is when this will happen (renewables = baseload).

    We will just keep on building gas power stations in the interim, could still be building them in 50 years.

    Nuclear must be discussed rationally especially if developing technology can prove up the concept, we are talking projecting decades into the future here, that's the lead-time of the discussion.

    To dismiss nuclear because it can't be built cost effectively within a decade is irrational imo, as it negates nuclear knowledge from residing in Australia and being part of a conversation that will last for generations.

    The pollies must get their head around thinking ahead in generations not months, all options alive until proved irrevocably unsustainable, and that doesn't mean if one form is cheaper it is necessarily the best option for our needs, needs change over generations.
