My understanding is that a CSEM survey is the only tool to minimise water risk. My understanding is the latest GB survey used the latest in Seismic technology due to the complex nature of the Salt Diaper structure to better qualify the reservoir to drill again to assess if it can be commercialised. No need for a CSEM as Sinapa is already a 240 mill boe 36 degree discovery. IMO if Svenska decide to drill it will be with production in mind. As for the new targets my understanding is that to minimise water risk would be to carry out a CSEM, but the accuracy or suitability of the CSEM would rely on the geology being suited to it.
Maybe those with a more detailed knowledge could comment as GB is also showing possible 1 bill boe potential.
