living n working in gladstone, other geo mate was working at LNGs fishermans gas plant when shell bid for arrow.Helped him pack and move to perth where he is doing several mine type geo work and i guess i was surprised too at the speed of the announcement, a total surprise.
Shell did sell off a chunk of woodside and is not satisfied with JV type arrangements in Australia according to them, yet they are buddies with santos and will share a site.
Lack of santos announcement seems strange since some big companies here had some early contracts and have gone quiet. Full of rumors in this town and some way out stories like a refinery in the mix(wheres the oil?) let alone a steel mill and nickel refinery.
