OK so now we've got rid of all the spurious stuff ..as for our head of state ..if it ain't broke why "fix" it?
Surely you're not going down the lame argument of "we won't grow up until we have our own"?
If ANYTHING is patronising,that's got it in spades.
Its easy to bust stuff; building and nurturing fragile concepts like democracy ( a rare essence even in todays world,perhaps more so) is not done hamfisted.
I know these are terrific distractions from what governments are supposed to do...like stopping the country being flooded by economic opportunists cashed up and prepared to play with people traffickers...
