Given the incredible incompetance of the Labour Party, we are going to need a Governor General to force an election at some point in the future which is the appointee of the Queen - so actually I would prefer we keep the current structure as it gives us a faint hope that these clowns are going to be given the boot!
Kevin Rudd's hero was Gough Whitlam. The most inept, wasteful and ridiculous politician of his time. And the only Prime Minister I have ever seen fired (even Kevin went down by a coup, not an outright firing). Gillard has turned Rudd's stinking politics into sleazy backroom deals and even more grandstanding. Its incredible that the media tolerate it.
The sight of her on stage with Oprah was enough to make me chuck.
