He clearly understands economics - preservation of the US standard, preserving manufacturing to create US Income tax etc. etc.

He even promises to pay down their debt.

The notion that economies should encourage free trade so their population can focus on 'greater' commerce is demonstrably flawed.

Trump increased the debt by more than any other President, no chance he will reduce it in a second Presidency.
