I was actually typing up a pizza example last night, figured he wouldn't understand it anyway.
So - here's a thought
There are 9 friends that often catch up for a pizza every Friday night
It's a really big pizza, and it gets cut into 9 evenly sliced pieces, and everyone's hunger is satisfied.
Then, some ring-in decides to come and join the party, so that pizza now needs to be cut into 10 equally sized pieces.
Everyone's slice of pizza is now only about 90% of the size that their slice of pizza was the week beforehand.
(Because there is only so much pizza to share)
Now, even though it is the very same sized pizza that everyone has always been happy with, they now have to share it 10 ways, and everyone leaves at the end of the night just a little bit more hungry than they did the week beforehand.
So to make up for not having the same amount of pizza, from the same sized pizza as the week beforehand, they need to go and grab and pay for a hot dog on their way home, to make up for the missing amount of food that they normally would have received, from very same pizza.
Ie - to be in the same position that once you were, you have to externally add more.
I wish I could do a diagram of that.
-------
Let's say, for our dear @itsagas, who claims that he, his family, and his friends own +/- 40M shares.
Based on the SOI of 901,544,971 - that group (his people) would own 1 in every 22.54 shares on issue or 4.4368280623% of the company.
After this occurs, however, and that +/- 40M shares that he claims that his people own
Based on the new SOI of 1,001,544,971 - that group would now own 1 in every 25.04 shares on issue or 3.9938296490% of the company.
In order to get back to holding 1 in every 22.54 shares on issue, or +/- 4.4368280623% of the company, Itsa and his people would then need to buy approximately 4,445,000 on the market to gain that position back.
If he cannot get his head around how this affects his holding on a personal level - that really concerns me.
If any of 'his people' are viewing this on HC, a 'Please Explain' might be appropriate as to why he thinks that dilution does is not an issue.
That's a pretty big ownership percentage change based on a holding of that size.
(* disclaimer - any minor typos, etc, this has been put together before I've had any coffee....).
