OK, so last time gold only lost 70% in value.

Take into account the value of the underlying currency and you get 75% with no trouble.

My suspicion is that that will mainly occur between 2010 and 2032/4 and that leaves still a decade when gold looks OK.

I suspect we aren't too far from a hiatus in gold appreciation and a couple of years seems appropriate.

In fact that should be a positive development.
