Hi Busting, maybe I worked in marketing and the commercial world too long, but something as important as a change in a company name was generally planned around some major change of direction or event, or at least something giving a lift to the company's prospects. A name change was also regarded as an opportunity to promote the company, even if that only involved publicising its existing strengths and forward plans. This is really just basic commercial practice, keeping the market and investors interested, and thus keeping the share price on an upward trajectory.
When Bendigo announced the proposed name change, I hoped that they had some plans for a new project (other than BCD!) or a new direction, and I was expecting some promotion of the company and its new name/image. So far, it's been a damp squib - a bit of a hiss, but no bang. Mike
