Stayed a few days there at the hotel dvorak an ok hotel but on the river and with great views of the castle from our room. Great little medieval town although can be big influxes of daytrippers from prague. Pretty quiet rest of the time. Nice to wander.
Also spent a few days in Karlovy Vary. A picturesque little spa town. Lots of rich Russian tourists when we went so wonder how it is coping now. Was amazed at all the really blingy high end stuff in the shops there for what was a small place. not much to do if you not into treatments , eat.
If your taste runs to the macarbe, a couple of good bone ossuarys in czechoslovakia. Sedlec good daytrip from Prague.
I'll put in a plug for Antwerp, Bruge and Ghent in Belgium, but I like the medieval.
