The day RIL blows $200m, spends 10 years talking about recycling batteries & achieves absolutely nothing, I'll be tearing them a new one as well.
I'm already searching the ASX for the next battery recycling venture & I think I found one. It's currently close to a pilot plant stage with a PFS due soon & outstanding recovery rates from black mass. The process recovers 100% of the nickel & could recover 100% of the lithium from lithium-ion batteries. As far as I know, it's a closed-loop process which means it keeps using the same solvents over & over again with no waste. NMT can't achieve that!!
This other ASX-listed company is also looking to commercialise the process in Europe! That company could be onto something.
NMT has a hydrometallurgical process using an acid leach which gets used up in the process to create a by-product. A useful by-product but a by-product nonetheless.
Meanwhile, NMT keeps yapping away over here, playing around in the dirt, umming & ahhing, blowing shareholder cash, blowing shareholder assets, blowing shareholder confidence & blowing hot air into my face.
