Suspension from trade is a temporary measure , and shares can still be traded if the company is eventually reinstated. Delisting is permanent & shares cannot be sold on the stock market after delisting. Delisting can take one to 2 years. That's why it is best to sell them after returning to trade, so you don't have to wait up to 2 years until they are delisted, in order to qualify for a tax loss.
