Actually crarg, I haven't seen a hell of a lot of Warner, but from what I have seen, I think he could easily become a very accomplished test player. He looks very sound when he plays straight, looks tough, and is a great competitor.
However, he seems to have become a bit of a victim of his explosive dings in 20/20, which created unreal expectations of him. No one, simply no one, can continually go for the ding and succeed regularly at that level....or any level for that matter. Not even Bradman could do that and get away with it.
Warner needs to go back to basics I believe, and work out what is his best way to compile a good knock. At the moment, his approach is all over the place, and it's affected his confidence.
By the way crarg, my tip of Hussey for Australia's top scorer for the series is looking pretty good! :-)
