from memory the banks (particularly CBA) would not budge and there were many shareholders asking for a share placement to get some funds back in to see them through the rough patch. The problem was the GFC was spooking all and OZL was the fist big one to get hit and all banks were to scared to assist. I think some were ok but the biggest exposed bank CBA left us out to dry (or is that die). I can remember many posts on HC during that time about ways to save the OX.
