Tier 1 means one of the largest deposits among other things like grade.
I think the term has become misused due to marketing types. Much like 4th versus 5th the generation in fighter jets.
I have an interest in a Tier 1 Cu/Au mine Cascabel at Alpala and it's struggling to get built because there's a massive fight to get ownership and two of the major Miners BHP & Newmont have their mitts in it.
Oh I know the STB story. I was in it not of much thank God. I've a got a tiny sliver of one of the leases via CVR which is hoped to become a mico heap lease so I understand the concept. However, that's more of a hit-it and hope.
