The US refused to let him go unless Australia agreed to repatriate him home to Sydney and ensure that he would be kept in Australia.
He wanted to move his family ( so he says ) to Afganistan and I think he should be sent back there with his family.
Put his family on a plane to Afganistan and pick him up on the way through.
