Have you read the through the testing of the AVL ore by Metso, if not I suggest you do.
The concentrate is pelletised, then using a travelling grate which preheats the pellets before roasting. The pellets have a better roasting outcome than concentrate feed. The travelling grate heat comes from the kiln discharge thus saving about 30% of gas needed in the kiln process . This is compared to Bushveld, Glencore and Largo Kilns.
The test work done on years 0-5 of the BFS which was mainly oxide ore recovered 92% of the vanadium .
AVL sent another sample to Metso in the last quarter of last year for testing. I imagine that concentrate would be from the southern blocks.
