Let's cut out the bull. The NBN will cost you the consumer MORE. If the speeds are faster and the the download limits are more then of course you will have to pay more. The question is do most people need more? No they don't so why should they pay more. ------------------- makattak,
The NBN will most likely cost the consumer the same atm but offer better speeds. While most people will not want faster now, what will they want in 5, 10 or 15 years time? Download speeds will need to be about 1Gbps in 15 years if the current growth rate continues.

Got the figures from the NBN business plan. the 500GB for 50/20 is 50Mbps down and 20Mbps up.
You currently have access to good internet, but what about all those who don't? You will get better speeds at lower costs in the future AND the money will be paid back with interest.
