Iron Mike, You have my sympathy for the loss of your friends. I regret the loss of all the lives and property.
I agree that the Premier and others with authority should be available as called upon by the situation controller.
However the time for pollies to act is before and after the heat of the emergency. During the fire the control belongs to an experienced and trained controller.
Before the fire it is up to the pollies to have the right ppolicy, procedure, systems and people in place. After the fire it is up to them to deal with the aftermath, review and reset the systems.
It is too late during a battle or fire to replace or over ride the situation controller and it would be a foolhardy pollie who did.
