Fairly typical of Northern cattle in earlier times.
Now that there is demand for live export to Indonesia they turnoff their cattle at lighter weights. Don’t quote me but I think they have to be 350kg not heavier and of course they are much younger.
About 10 years ago they ran a meat quality/eating experience competition and the winner was a 4 year grass fed bullock from QLD. Outranked grain fed in blind taste testing.
Don’t know how hard they are to bone but size becomes an issue on the chain.
