Busy time of year right now, but I feel it necessary to take the time to correct some of the malicious tripe that's doing the rounds.
T4, I can't comment on the veracity of whether you know Craig Thorley or not. I can however say that I've known Alan Shortall for several years, Craig too, and have had the opportunity to talk with both at length about the genesis of Unitract, as it then was.
If you did know Craig as well as you suggest, you would know that there were two failed attempts to commercialise the technology prior to Alan's involvement, attempts where Craig threw significant good money after bad and, to put it bluntly, was ripped off and left with nothing.
You would also know that Craig was most assiduous in recruiting Alan to the role of CEO, a role Alan initially turned down. It was only Craig's persistence and insistence that he wanted Alan in the job job, that won him over.
You would also know, that in complete opposition to the mailicious gossip you are trying to spread, that Craig holds Alan in the very highest regard, and has always done so. Which of course is why he wanted him in the job in the first place.
I can also tell you, as was mentioned several years ago when all the same attacks against our CEO were being made, that Sanofi also hold Alan in the very highest regard, which of course is why he is locked into the leadership of Unilife for a minimum two years in the event of a takeover.
You might or might not also know that it was Alan, not the board as it then was, who single-handedly negotiated the Industrialisation Agreement and Exculsive Licence Agreement with Sanofi. When the expectation was that they would be lucky to get a million or two from Sanofi, he came back with the thick-end of $50 million. Clearly incompetent. Not.
These facts are the truth, albeit an inconvenient truth to those with unlterior motives in trying to talk the stock down.
I cannot be bothered revisiting all the other dross you're trying to drag out of the mire. However to suggest that Alan is winging around the world living the high life at shareholder's expense and achieving nothing is so peurile it's laughable. Likewise the insinuation that Sanofi might/will walk away, as will all the other pharmas we are negotiating with, and nothing will eventuate. Just a joke, though a very poor one.
Everything that has been achieved in the past several years up to and including our listing on the NASDAQ, has been achieved under Alan Shortall's leadership, professionalism, consumate negotiating skills and dedication to the job.
The time is rapidly approaching when all the hard work that has been done over the years will come together, as planned, and Unilife will become what shareholders have always believed.
Of course, when this does happen, as it will, all this garbage will finally be laid to rest, and some people are going to be looking very foolish indeed. Alan Shortall will not be one of them.
