I'm always willing to accept I could be wrong. My reasons for stating that is that sometimes the daily shorts are far greater than than the actual sales. I'll give one very obvious example but there are more if you go digging. between the 4 and 5th December last year. That increase was almost 4 million shares but total trades was only about 1.5 million. So even under the unlikely scenario that all were shorted there is still an excess
