so... what is the average price of the shorters?
1\ It started in March 2023.... where they picked up about
4 million at between $9 to $5.
2\ May to August they picked up another
5 million around the $5.50 mark.
3\ September to early 2024 they picked up another 6 million around the $3.50 mark
4\ End of August 6 million positions closed around the $2.25 mark as Weebit, for argument sake lets assume those were the ones who opened positions from September 2023. closing with a ~$1 profit/share
5\ another 2 million positions opened since August with an average price in the low $2s
6\ So we can argue there are 9 million open shorts with an average price between $5 to $9.
If I were them, knowing a big announcement might be an day, I would be closing my position ASAP (with a healthy profit)
7\ So in my uneducated opinion there is a 50/50 chance we will see the shorts plummet but NOT next week!
8\ securities were announced on the 14th, but issue date is the 21st. so we might not see shorts closed until the middle of the week after next....patience!!!
