The company has not yet decided on making a bid for Riversdale, says report.
The report stated that the company is interested in ensuring coal supplies from Riversdale for its European arm.
Earlier Rio Tinto has made a $3.9 billion takeover offer for Riversdale, a company in which Tata Steel holds 24% stake at present, adds report."
